Safety for you and your child

ColorKid creates colouring books where your child is the hero. This page explains clearly how we handle photos, images and book data.
In short
- The photo is used to draw your child as a cartoon character.
- Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 in the EU and deleted after 30 days at the latest.
- To draw the character, the photo is sent to fal.ai in the US.
- Before uploading, you confirm you are the guardian or have consent from everyone shown in the photo.
Which providers are in the US
We want as much as possible to happen in the EU, but some parts currently happen in the US.
- fal.ai (US) draws characters and pages with the Seedream model.
- Resend (US) sends sign-in links, receipts and other emails.
- Anthropic (US) runs Claude for text support and quality checks.
- GitHub (US) builds books in our current build chain.
AI labelling
Images are created with AI.
PDF files contain metadata that marks the content as AI-generated.
How long we keep data

Delete things yourself
- Delete book: removes the book, pages and PDFs.
- Delete my account: removes account, characters, photos and books, and cancels any subscription.
Questions parents ask
Do you use face recognition?
No. We do not store face templates and we do not use biometrics.
Does everything stay in the EU?
No. We use providers in the US and we say that explicitly above.
